MOScout Daily Update: GOP Leads in New Poll - DHSS Announces MMJ Growers List and more...

Congratulations

To veteran communicator Rich Chrismer, who proposed to Colleen Timson on Christmas Eve following dinner at the Ritz-Carlton, St. Louis.

Ms. Timson is a sommelier, private event specialist and KNOWiNK’s administrative coordinator. Chrismer was spotted by a MOScout reader in the hotel lobby earlier in the evening making what was discovered later to have been final arrangements for the proposal….

MMJ Growers Licenses

The Department of Health and Senior Services issued the “list of 60.”  These are the lucky folks who won licenses for medical marijuana cultivation facilities.

Find the list of applicants – their total “score” and whether they got the license or not – here.

News Tribune notes that “fees for the applications were $10,000 each and nonrefundable… The DHSS has received 554 applications (and $6,367,901.02 in fees for cultivation facilities applications). The explanation for the odd count on fees received, [Lisa] Cox said, is a number of people sent in incomplete applications and partial payments…”

Tate Passes

Missouri Economic Development Council sent out a note…

It is with great sadness that we share news of the death of one of our long-time members, Phil Tate.

Phil was a longtime businessman in Gallatin, served six terms in the Missouri State Legislature, served the state as Director of Business Expansion and Attraction for the Missouri Department of Economic Development and upon retirement from state service, the returned to employment in a number of positions in the North Missouri communities of Kirksville, Trenton and Gallatin.

His full obituary and funeral service details can be found at this link.

We extend our sympathies to his many family members and friends - Phil will be greatly missed!

Lembke Not Returning to Staff

I’m told that former Sen. Jim Lembke be returning to staff the Conservative Caucus this session.  Some building denizens had raised concerns that ethical lines would be blurred if Lembke hopped on and off staff throughout the year.

Lembke will likely be in the building though, working on issues…
