Trump Says Hartzler Won’t Get His Endorsement

Twitter lit up last night after former President Donald Trump announced on his social media platform that he had ruled out endorsing Congresswoman Vicky HartzlerSee the mighty Rosenbaum’s tweet here.

With Billy Long so far back in the polls, folks think this mean Trump’s choice is now down to Eric Greitens or Eric Schmitt.

You can forget about Vicky Hartzler for Senate from the Great State of Missouri. She called me this morning asking for my Endorsement, much as she has on other occasions. I was anything but positive in that I don’t think she has what it takes to take on the Radical Left Democrats, together with their partner in the destruction of our Country, the Fake News Media and, of course, the deceptive & foolish RINOs. I was very nice to Vicky on the call, but will NOT BE ENDORSING HER FOR THE SENATE!

·       There is no path forward, unless you want to put the 2023 session in jeopardy of looking like the 2022 session. The Senate did what the Senate is supposed to do and worked out a compromise this year, to throw all that out the window and try to ram something through in a special will be disastrous. Huge miscalculation by the Governor.

·       The conservative caucus will not be on board with a 6 year sunset for Ag (plus it's a tax credit).

·       Very unlikely. Too many folks have too much to gain by this not being successful. Time to grab the popcorn…

·       The fact that you’re asking the question illustrates how poorly they’ve handled this.

·       Election year. Rs might get in line. Nothing to prove post-primary.

·       Zero, less than zero chance. This is such a misstep by parson and driven solely by his ego

·       Too many factions in the general assembly and not enough leadership or consistency from the second floor to navigate it all. Will be a total sh*t show if it’s called.

·       Hmmm - special session because the ag credit extension is not long enough. Could there have been another way to deal with this???? The best part of this is that we are trying to be like KS in the early 2000's because their tax cuts worked out so well. Let's take Missouri's great economy and assume it will last forever and cut taxes in future years so state government can't do its fundamental job…

·       Does Onder have anything to lose at this point?

Who Won the Week?

The Erics – With Vicky Hartzler out of the running for the Trump’s endorsement, speculation turns to Eric Greitens and Eric Schmitt as potential winners in the Trump Sweepstakes.

Schmitt and Hartzler – Between the new SuperPAC’s hits on Greitens, a viral video from his former Mission Continues co-founder, and softening in the polls, it looks like Greitens days atop the MO Senate polls is coming to an end.

Education reformers - $500,000 loaded into their PAC this week.  Assuming it’s deployed effectively, it could help their prospects in getting more school choice-friendly legislators to Jeff City.

TV Stations – Missouri Independent estimates that already $10 million worth of ads have been purchased already – for just the Senate race in Missouri.
