Q: Senate Bill 44 makes it an unlawful employment practice for a public employer to inquire into or consider the criminal record of an applicant during the interview process. The law allows the employer to inquire into and consider criminal records ONLY after a conditional job offer has been made. The law does not apply to any position when federal or state law expressly permits the review of criminal histories of applicants. Do you support or oppose this legislation?
