Special Update: Rupp to PSC
Strong sources are saying with certainty that Governor Jay Nixon will be appointing Sen. Scott Rupp to Public Service Commission.
The appointment would reportedly happen soon after March 13. That's when the current vacancy's term is up. That way Rupp would be appointed to a full term on the commission, and not need to be re-appointed.
Rupp is a well-liked, well-respected senator who should be confirmed without any problems.
And this will clearly ease the way for Nixon's Democratic appointee, Daniel Hall to be confirmed.
It will create another vacancy in the Senate, but it's unlikely Nixon would call a special for Senate 2, with the regularly scheduled primary only months away.
