MOScout Weekender: Sinquefield Sends $50K to Holly PAC - Poll on Impeachment - Hallway Sees CLEANER Likely and more...

Sinquefield in Senate 27

Rex Sinquefield sent $50,000 to the pro-Holly Rehder PAC, Holly PAC.  Rehder is engaged in a very competitive Republican primary with Rep. Kathy Swan.  Swan is endorsed by term-limited incumbent Sen. Wayne Wallingford.  Rehder has maintained a fundraising lead on Swan, and this big check from Sinquefield will help increase it.

Redher has been much more aggressive on education reform than Swan, an issue that’s a top priority for Sinquefield.

·         This will be a test of senate leadership. The house should crank it out quickly. There needs to be a legal review to ensure the timing isn’t risking a challenge, though.

·         This is a leadership priority and one more issue that will define Speaker Haahr’s career in the House.

·         Duh.

·         I don’t see a scenario where it hurts them if they do it. Voters don’t care and there are good reasons to fix a few areas.

·         And they have supermajorities to do it, so if they fail it would mean significant in-fighting.

·         High desire but the senate process dictates that the phrase “very likely” should never be used when talking about chances of passing a bill.

·         I don’t think that there is anything more important to Sen. Rowden.

·         The Republicans won’t make a stupid mistake again this year by missing a committee vote.

·         I say, “somewhat” to leave room for another procedural bunk-up...
