Sample of Comments

·         Still plenty of time left. The maps will get tied up with a bunch of other priorities at the end, but they will pass.

·         Too much pride in the Senate for anyone to give now.

·         There is still a real chance that the legislature draws a map, but all sides seem to have given up at the moment.

·         I think the Senators cave.

·         I think the conservative caucus will relent on the last day of session because it will either be the house map or the courts. They will pick the house map over the courts.

Who Won the Week?

Gregg Keller, Rich Chrismer and Lane Koch – Started off the 2022 election cycle with a big win in one of the most hotly contested races in St. Louis County in the April elections. Merrell Hansen roundly defeated Tamarah Wagner for Chesterfield City Council, preventing a candidate with real problems from winning.

Erika Leonard – Cruised to a decisive Jeff City School Board victory.

The Senate – In the words of one lobbyist., “they passed some damn bills.”

Sheena Greitens – She continues to display grace, grit, and resilience in a terribly difficult situation.
