Ashcroft Pitches for Ashcroft
In a new video from the Jay Ashcroft campaign, his dad, John Ashcroft sits on the back of a pick-up truck with shovels and a chainsaw, and looks directly into the camera to counter claims by the Kehoe campaign about Chinese ownership of farmland. “Facts are stubborn things.” See it here.
· The 72-second video could easily be cut into a 30-second ad. It’s the first indication that Team Ashcroft will lean more heavily into Jay’s pedigree as son of the former governor/senator/AG.
Cody Key to Freedom Caucus Budget Win
The Freedom Caucus reviewing the session cheered that they accomplished their “#2 goal,” a smaller budget.
The key, according to one Freedomer: “[House Budget Chair] Cody Smith joined the Freedom Caucus mid-Session. The House members really wanted him & he was very willing to join. That was key to The FC working very closely with the House to roll [Lincoln] Hough and the Senate on the budget…”
