MOScout Weekender: Poll Sees “Change” Election Coming to STL? - Hallway Like Casteel, But Early in Senate 22 - Who Won the Week and more…

Remington/MOScout Poll: St. Louis City

It could be a “change” election coming in St. Louis City.  According to our latest poll, Cara Spencer has a double-digit lead over Mayor Tishaura Jones, and former Rep. Donna Baringer is edging ahead of incumbent Comptroller Darlene Green (though well within the margin of error).  Fueling the anti-incumbent feeling could be the right-track, wrong-track sentiment solidly responding that things are headed in the wrong direction.  See the full results here.

Survey conducted March 25 through March 27, 2025. 622 likely Municipal Election voters participated in the survey. Survey weighted to match expected turnout demographics. Margin of Error is +/-4% with a 95% level of confidence. Totals do not always equal 100% due to rounding. Survey conducted by Remington Research Group on behalf of Missouri Scout.

Sample of Comments

·       Too early to say assuming there will be a rush for consultants to put their client in the race

·       Casteel is a crowd pleaser. He’s a hard worker, has a great story and well liked by various interest groups.

·       [Avery]Never bet against the plaintiffs bar

·       [Someone else] Too many interest groups (labor, trial attorneys, business, etc) plus too many consultants equals a free for all in the making.

·       [Casteel] Workhorse, not a show horse.

·       Rob Vescovo

·       Can’t believe you didn’t put Waller on the list. The dude has been elected county wide over and over again since 2004 I think.
