MOScout Weekender: Stadium Repeal IP Filed - Hallway Sees PQ Coming - Who Won the Week and more…
New IPs Filed to Repeal Stadium Subsidies
The Ketcher Law Firm filed two initiative petitions that would repeal the stadium subsidies which were passed in the first special session.
I would doubt that they have the legs (folks to go out and collect signatures), but it makes a statement.
See the IP here.

· Yes. Twice. Senate Democrats should want to be PQ'd. Anything less would look like acquiescence.
· The majority only knows brute force. Subtlety is lost on them
· Only way to get it done.
· No - and if so, It will not because Dems didn’t offer up some kind of a deal.
· Duh.
· TRUMP told them to. So of course they will.
· Rizzo would make them use it. Beck might back down. We’ll see…
Who Won the Week?
Mizzou – Extends popular president Mun Choi’s contract until 2031.
Missouri Senate Campaign Committee – Always nice when one of your top candidates, in this case Melanie Stinnett, plunks down a cool $200,000 on their race.
Ann Wagner – Crystal Ball sees the new map pushing her district farther into the safe Republican lane.
Tracy McCreery – Big kick-off, with lots of donors. And meanwhile, no credible Republican candidate in sight.

So, we have a Republican Governor who really doesn’t want to do this and realizes it is a train wreck for any cooperation between political parties in future legislative actions, we have a Republican Speaker of the House Jon Patterson, who proudly and loudly tells everyone he is voting NO on both redistricting and IP reform, and we leave the dirty work and all the political fallout to the Republican elected State Representatives and State Senators to try to explain this gross injustice to their voters for the next 12 month until election day. Not a great day to be Republican in Missouri!
