Eigel Ad in St. Charles Exec Race

Bill Eigel’s latest ad in the St. Charles County Executive race lays out his agenda.

·       I will end personal property tax in St. Charles County.

·       I will stop runaway apartment growth.

·       I'm a no on data centers.

It’s interesting that he’s acting like it’s a two-person race.  He puts the whole contrast against Steve Ehlmann, completely ignoring the third candidate, Jason Law.

Senate 4: Mitten Spots Focus on Butz Abortion Stance

Gina Mitten has two new digital ads up, a 15-second spot and a shorter 6-second spot hitting Rep. Steve Butz on abortion.

See 15-second spot here.

See 6-second spot here.

This jibes with what Mitten told the mighty Jason Rosenbaum that she sees the issue as critical to the core of the district. “Nearly 80% of this district voted in favor of Amendment 3 to restore reproductive rights, or abortion rights, and 70% voted for the Democratic candidate for governor. So, it’s arguably a more pro-choice district than it is a Democratic district.”

Follow-Up on Beck for Zimmerman

One source familiar with Sen. Doug Beck’s thinking says that the Democratic Caucus kerfuffle late last year had nothing to do with his decision not to endorse Sen. Brian Williams in the St. Louis County Executive race.  I’m told Beck had decided long before, based on Williams’ “performance,” that he wouldn’t support him.

Axios on CD-1

Axios looks at the Wesley BellCori Bush rematch.  See it here.

United Democracy Project, AIPAC's super PAC, has spent $865,000 on television ads supporting Bell in Missouri's 1st Congressional District so far, according to ad tracking firm AdImpact.  That makes it the biggest ad spender in the race so far, followed by the center-left New Democrat Coalition's PAC's $500,000 and the Bell campaign's $475,000. Bush's campaign has spent just $30,000 on ads, per AdImpact. No outside groups have spent money in support of her yet.

Burlison Fundy

Congressman Eric Burlison had a packed fundraiser in Springfield this week with more than 125 attendees. Special guests included Secretary of State Denny Hoskins, Sen. Rick Brattin, and former RNC committeemen Gordon Kinne.

4. Jason Law… 0%

Sample of Comments

·       Republicans seem to want to watch the world burn.

·       Non-endorsement by the Governor = tell.

·       Big mistake for Law and Ehlmann to both run. Ah egos.

·       Eigel embodies the modern Republican base. Trump’s GOP traded normal functioning adults for low information voters.

·       Although I’m kinda rooting for Arnie to pull off the upset of the century.

·       The other two don't seem to have their sh*t together so Eigel wins.

People on the Move

·       The Columbia Tribune reports that former State Auditor Nicole Galloway has been hired by Veterans United Home Loans “as chief financial officer, where she will oversee financial operations and long-term planning for the Columbia-based lender.”

·       Gary McElyea has been promoted to VP, Public Policy & Government Affairs for The Coca-Cola Company in Europe.  McElyea worked for Peter Kinder and Tom Schweich before joining to Coke over a decade ago.
