MOScout Weekender: New Statewide Poll - Protect Missouri Freedom Gets $500K - Hallway on Hypothetical - WWTW and more...
Protect Missouri Freedom Gets $500K
On Thursday the Carpenters Union PAC, CHIPP, gave $400,000 to Protect Missouri Freedom. And Missouri WIN sent $100K on the same day. Missouri WIN is a 501c4 non-profit incorporated by Brad Ketcher in 2018.
The Protect Missouri Freedom committee is expected to deploy its resources to help Dmoecratic legislative candidates.
The treasurer of the committee is Scott Intagliata, a businessman and Democratic donor.
And
Rex Sinquefield continues to give to Republicans… There had been some uncertainty about this. But there’s two big checks listed today: $50K to the House Republican Campaign Committee, and $50K to Might Missouri PAC, the IE PAC aligned with Speaker-elect Rob Vescovo.

MOScout’s Hallway Index: Senate Floor if Rowden Loses
Most folks think Caleb Rowden prevails in his state senate race. But I asked: if he were to lose, who would become the next Senate Majority Floor Leader? No clear consensus. 26 replies…
1. Mike Cierpiot… 15.4%
2. Tony Luetkemeyer… 30.7%
3. Bob Onder… 23.1%
4. Bill White… 0%
5. Someone else… 30.7%
Sample of Comments
· Caleb is not going to lose.
· I hear Tony's name being bantered around, but I do not see him being a real option. He is more of a lone operative and is not close enough with the CC or the normal conservatives.
· Interesting that Bill White is in the mix as he opposes a number of tort reform issues. Would be a slap in the face to the tort reform coalition. Onder in the same boat.
· I know he probably isn’t interested but Lincoln Hough makes the most sense.
· [Luetkemeyer’s] only downfall would be that he plays it too close with the conservative caucus sometimes (see concurrent jurisdiction) and that could cause the rest to rally around someone else.
· Tony has shown a proven ability to fundraise and will not face a steep re-elect. Stability at the top will be important. Also, Rowden is not going to lose.
· Dan Hageman
· Cierpiot or White, both are servant leaders.
· I think Onder could win a race to lead his caucus, if a meteor hit the Capitol instantly killing the other 23 republican senators
Who Won the Week?
Elijah Haahr – Haahr gets his revenge, and a standing ovation.
Rob Vescovo – Vescovo sets the tone early with the Senate and the 2nd floor: his House won’t be rolled.
Kim Gardner – Still standing, months after the governor and attorney general make her the focus of their fire.
MO Dems – Protect Missouri Freedom lands big checks from organized labor. The money will likely be flowing to competitive legislative races.
Jason Hancock – Assembling his journalistic dream team during a buyer’s market.
