MOScout Daily Update: Paths to Victory for US Senate Candidates - MOScout Pick'em Contest - Rowden PAC $$$ - Plan B Fight Brewing? and more...

US Senate

Here we are one day away from Election Day…

Eric Schmitt – Schmitt’ basking in leads of varying degrees in the latest polls.  They all have a fair number of undecideds in them, but assuming the polls are somewhat accurate and the split of undecideds isn’t wacky, he’s the favorite.

Vicky Hartzler – It’s possible rural turnout will propel her.  One lobbyist makes the case: “Trafalger has [her] within the MOE… I was driving around rural Missouri last week and pretty much only saw Vicky signs - I know “signs don’t vote” but I am going to just say it… she will win.”

Eric Greitens – He needs a silent army of supporters who were too fearful to tell pollsters their intention.  Is it possible?  I suppose so, but working against him are the high negatives and unfavorables.  It’s unlikely he picks up many undecideds in the ballot box.

Closing Ads

A few ads making their final case to voters.  I like both of these.

·       Jay Wasson (in CD-7) – See it here.  Anti-establishment messaging from the former state senator. “I don’t look like Washington; and I don’t sound like Washington.”

·       Mike Bernskoetter (Senate 6) – See it here. Doesn’t run from being an incumbent, contrasts his cool demeanor with the current environments’ “Noise, empty political promises and downright lies.”

Late $$$ From Rowden PAC

·       The pro-Caleb Rowden PAC, Missouri Foreward, pushed some late money - $90K – into the Senate 26 race aiding Bob Jones.

·       And Missouri Forward is running Facebook ads against Suzie Pollock, running against Sen. Justin Brown in Senate 16.  They hit her on voting to raise her salary while voting against higher police salaries.  See it here.

Plan B Fight Brewing?

Sammy Panettiere registered for Foundation Consumer Healthcare.  They own the emergency contraceptive brand Plan B One-Step, among other drugs.

There’s been fear that in a post-Dobbs world some contraceptives will be prohibited, or regulated to oblivion.

Reardon to Pollard Banknote

Heartlander has a post that “May Scheve Reardon, the outgoing state lottery director and new vice president of government relations for Canada-based lottery vendor Pollard Banknote.”  See it here.  They raise questions about conflicts of interest involved with the former director heading to work for a company that sought state contracts.

Lobbyist Registrations

Salvatore Panettiere added Foundation Consumer Healthcare.

$5K+ Contributions

Lathrop Gage Consulting Political Action Committee - $30,000 from Twin River.

Conservative Leadership for Missouri PAC (pro-Bob Jones) - $90,000 from Missouri Forward (pro-Rowden).

Birthdays

Happy birthdays to Maura Gray, Shannon Weber, and Bill Reibolt.

Congratulations

To Adam Albach, legislative director for the Department of Corrections, and his wife, Heather, who posted on social media that they are infanticipating…
