Sample of Comments

·       “Someone else” guesses included: Caleb Rowden, Holly Rehder, and Mary Elizabeth Coleman.

·       [Plocher] Has a great statewide pedigree and will have the resources to run a serious campaign.

·       Tony is smart, raises money, and would play well in ads

·       I’m not sure how likely it is, but Sandy’s gotta have the best shot to be appointed to Treasurer given her relationship with the governor.

·       [Luetkemeyer] Good fundraiser and he seems to be very motivated. Looking more and more like the next Eric Schmitt.

·       Dean is hard-working, smart, picks the right battles and remembers faces.

Who Won the Week?

Dan Houx – Prospects for the sports betting bill to be a top priority rise as Senate leadership promises to deliver on the issue.

Lincoln Hough and Andrew Koenig – Lead the Senate through the tax cut compromise, offering hope that next session can be less antagonistic.

Eric Schmitt – SurveyUSA’s poll echoes the Remington/MOScout poll from last month showing Schmitt with an 11-point lead.  Six weeks left and no catalyst on the horizon to change the trajectory of the race.

Cindy O’Laughlin – While she’s by no means a favorite in the Senate Floor Leader race, observers are now seeing a path for her to pull off an upset win – if she can make it past the first round of voting.
