MOScout Daily Update: Fitz PAC New Ad - HUGE Fundraising Rundown - Meet The Ed Martin Consulting Group and more…

Fitz Ad

This new ad from Auditor Scott Fitzpatrick’s PAC touts his success in rooting out waste and fraud.  See it here.

Too often power corrupts and we pay the price. But with State Auditor Scott Fitzpatrick on the case, corruption is rooted out. $224,000 misappropriated in Randolph County; nearly $80,000 taken from Kennett taxpayers; over $160,000 missing in Dunklin County. All uncovered by Scott Fitzpatrick because Fitzpatrick fights corruption so no one is above the law.

What It Means

They’re taking it seriously; they’ll use all the resources in the PAC.

Meet Ed Martin Consulting Group

Here we go again.  Ed Martin is offering his consulting services…

I've spent most of my career around courtrooms, most recently as Interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia. And here's what I learned. A lot of cases get decided in public long before a judge ever rules. If you're in that kind of fight, I can help.

·       Meet the Ed Martin Consulting Group here.

Fundraising Overview

Below is a rundown of the October campaign finance reports.  This is rearview-mirror material, obviously. It shows what campaigns raised and spent through September 30 – two weeks ago.  The next two weeks, meanwhile, will be critical.  It does give a general sense of the resources available, though as you can see in the $5K+ contributions list at the end of this post, that’s changing daily as well.

One big takeaway…

Dems are better equipped financially for this cycle of legislative races than they have been in the past.  HRCC is still a monster with $3 million to deploy.  But Will of the People PAC has spent heavily in some races.  And Democrats are generally outraising their Republican competitors.  In 14 of the 19 House races I’m watching, Dems raised more this quarter – perhaps an indication of base enthusiasm.  The exceptions…

House 16: Chris Brown — $31,200 vs. Dan Kinate’s $21,019

House 17: Bill Allen — $11,823 vs. Susan Hoisington’s $10,360

House 31: Ron Fowler — $18,878 vs. Justin Geiser’s $7,094

House 96: Brad Christ — $148,805 vs. Matt Vitale’s $36,649

House 101: Ben Keathley — $19,524 vs. Paul Lentz’s $8,375

Where Third-Parties Are Spending

Farther below, I’ve listed the House races I’m watching.  But a great indicator of what’s competitive is where the big committees supporting the Republicans and Dems are spending money.  Here’s a list of those races and amounts from their October reports.
