MOScout Daily Update: Schmitt to TX - Plocher for Gregory - Walsh Rep Endorsements - Gross Preps Parson Suit - Johnson Passes - JCity Streaker and more....

Schmitt to Border

Following Eric Greitens’ lead of traveling out of Missouri to highlight national issues, Attorney General Eric Schmitt traveled to the “border in El Paso” to hold a press conference about a suit he’s filing with the Texas AG.

KCStarMissouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton sued the Biden administration Thursday, seeking to resume construction of a wall along the southern border. President Joe Biden issued a memo on his first day in office halting construction of barriers along the U.S.-Mexico border, a signature policy of former President Donald Trump.

·         MOScouter: I guess I understand Texas suing since it borders Mexico. Missouri….?

From Myers Funeral Chapel: His career began with the labor movement in 1960 when he became a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen and ended in December of 2012, when he officially retired as Secretary-Treasurer of the Missouri AFL-CIO.  A position he held for 15 years.

Gross Tees Up Suit Against Parson

Kansas City Star report that Elad Gross is representing a cybersecurity expert who’s being targeted by Governor Mike Parson for alerting the state to their security flaw.  Read it here.

An attorney for University of Missouri-St. Louis Professor Shaji Khan sent a letter Thursday to Parson, the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) and other agencies telling them to preserve records related to the episode — often a first step before a lawsuit… Khan had been approached by the newspaper and confirmed that the website contained a vulnerability that allowed the personal information of teachers to be accessed. He was quoted in the story calling it a “serious flaw.” For that, Khan’s attorney said, the professor was defamed by state officials who violated his right to free speech because he now faces government retaliation.

Finally

From Fox News…  A Missouri woman who allegedly streaked naked across a football field full of 8th graders has been sacked by prosecutors.

Lacey Uthe, of Jefferson City, was charged with sexual misconduct involving a child under 15 last Wednesday in connection with the incident, court records showed.

Uthe, who was born in 1994, according to legal records, told prosecutors she took heroin before leaving her home in the nude to look for help "because she thought she would die," documents obtained by KMIZ reportedly showed.

She allegedly jumped over the Helias Football Stadium fence wearing only a scarf while 29 middle school football players participated in a youth program, according to the station.

Uthe was reportedly taken to the hospital and later posted a $10,000 bond, according to court records — which showed the suspect has been charged with six other crimes and infractions since 2014.

eMailbag on China Farms

·         The Hartzler ad has nothing to do with Chinese farms, it’s setting her up to attack Schmitt on his sponsoring of the China Hub bill.

·         How in the world can someone say the China attacks didn’t work against Kurt? He got smoked by the now senior Senator and the China commercials were the beginning of the end for him.

·         “No one cares about Chinese farms”  Tell that to former Attorney General candidate Hawley who beat Schaeffer by 30 pts
