MOScout Daily Update: Burger Ad - AFC Loads Up PAC - Parson Lets 340B Bill Become Law - Byrnes Hub in the $$$ in WSOP and more…

Quick Friday update…

Burger Ad

Rep. Jamie Burger’s first TV ad has been released.  It describes Burger as an “America First Conservative.”

And

·       Team Burger pushes back against the recent memo from Rep. Chris Dinkin’s team.  “That memo was done before the newer American Viewpoints memo that showed Burger 13 points up.”

·       Burger’s PAC had another $45,000 in checks come in yesterday.

·       But Dinkins will likely benefit from AFC’s muscle (see below).

AFC PAC Loads Up

In the large contributions (below), the AFC Victory Fund was funded with over $600,000 from their national organization.  American Federation for Children is pushing to advance school choice legislation.

And – tipster says that this just the “first installment.”

Among state senate candidates that could see help from AFC…

·       Senate 11 – Aaron McMullen
Senate 21 – Doug Richey

·       Senate 23 – Phil Christofanelli

·       Senate 27 – Chris Dinkins

Bush Touts Labor Support

Congresswoman Cori Bush will hold a press conference today with local labor leaders from UNITE HERE Local 74, SEIU Healthcare, Coalition of Black Trade Unionists, American Federation of Government Employees Local 96, and Communications Workers of America Local 6400.

·       Bush’s presser comes as opponent Wesley Bell has garnered remarkable support from several labor organizations – an unusual development in a Democratic primary involving an incumbent.  Labor groups backing Bell include International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1, Plumber and Pipefitters Local 562, Mid-America Carpenters Regional Council, United Food and Commercial Workers Local 655, Missouri-Kansas Laborers District Council, Laborers’ Local 42 & 110, and Sheet Metal Workers SMART Local Union No. 36

Parson Lets 340B Bill Pass into Law Without Signature

Governor Mike Parson said he would let SB 751 pass into law without his signature.  In a letter accompanying his non-action, Parson explains that he finds SB 751 “flawed,” but, after outlining his concerns, says “my ultimate focus is on patient access and affordability.”
