Sen. Eric Burlison, running in CD-7, will release his first television ad today. It’s a fun playful ad featuring his daughters who call him a nerd for teaching the evils of inflation and name-dropping Ted Cruz around the house.

Another Early Kehoe Endorsement: Asphalt

Later today, the Missouri Asphalt Association (MAPA) will announce their endorsement of Lieutenant Governor Mike Kehoe for governor of Missouri.

Gun Deal Includes “Red Flag” Incentives

NYTimes reports that the compromise on gun laws in the Senate “includes federal incentives for states to enact so-called red flag laws to seize guns temporarily from those deemed a threat to themselves and others.”

· Folks following Missouri politics know that there’s probably no amount of money from the federal government that will entice the general assembly to pass red flag laws. But as always, we’ll see….

Bush Accuses Israel of War Crime

St. Louis Jewish Light reports that “Rep. Cori Bush, a Democrat from St. Louis, has written a policy letter calling the eviction and future evictions of 1,000 Palestinian villagers from the Masafer Yatta, area of the West Bank, a war crime.”

STL City Officials Indicted

Lewis Reed, President of the St. Louis City Board of Aldermen, and two city aldermen were indicted on corruption charges.

On Friday before the long weekend, Ben Samuels dropped out of the CD-2 race. He had been running as a Democrat trying to unseat Congresswoman Ann Wagner. Samuels said that the new congressional map was a killer for his campaign.
